Legal Assistant (Montreal)
Murdoch Rodrigue Archambault Avocats is a law firm with offices in Montreal and Val-d'Or (Abitibi-Temiscamingue). We are looking for a Legal Assistant to work closely with the lawyers with our Indigenous Law team, at the Montreal Office. The selected person will be responsible for providing legal and administrative support to the lawyers on her team.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting lawyers in formatting, transcribing, editing and drafting various administrative and legal documents, in English and to a lesser extent in French;
- Following up on communications;
- Managing the organization of digital and physical files, as well as their daily filing;
- Ensuring corporate record-keeping;
- Following up files with his team;
- Collaborating with lawyers in closings;
- Organizing meetings and travel (transportation, hotels, etc.) when required;
- Perform any other related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Vocational diploma in Legal Secretarial Studies diploma in Legal Techniques, or other relevant training;
- Bilingualism (English and French);
- Highly detail-oriented, rigorous, and thorough;
- Resourcefulness, versatility, and flexibility;
- Good team spirit.

Comptable (Val-d'Or)

Nous sommes à la recherche d’une personne dynamique, compétente et motivée pour combler le poste de comptable au sein de notre équipe à notre bureau de Val-d’Or.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gestion du compte en fidéicommis (Trust);
- Facturation client et gestion des comptes payables;
- Comptabilité générale : tenue de livres et gestion de la paie;
- Rapport de fin de période : conciliation bancaire et rapports de taxes;
- Préparer les divers rapports et remises gouvernementales;
- Participer aux fins de mois et à la fin d’année;
- Soutien administratif : analyse des comptes à recevoir et recouvrement;
- Toutes autres tâches connexes à la comptabilité et à la gestion.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Formation en comptabilité (DEC/BAC) ou expérience équivalente;
- Expérience minimum de 3 ans;
- Maîtrise des outils comptables (QuickBooks et JurisConcept);
- Bilinguisme fonctionnel (un atout);
- Connaissance des règles fiscales applicables;

Lawyer – Indigenous law (Montreal)
Description
Our office is currently seeking a lawyer with one (1) to three (3) years of experience and with an interest in indigenous law to join our team in Montreal and support the growth of our office. In this role, you will be involved in a wide variety of files and work closely with our customers to advise and answer a variety of commercial, regulatory and governmental questions, assisting them in their day-to-day activities, as well as in their new projects and development.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft legal opinions;
- Draft, revise and negotiate various types of contracts;
- Draft and revise laws and regulations;
- Act as a corporate secretary to indigenous businesses and entities;
- Advise indigenous businesses, corporations and governments on their projects and activities.
Experience Required
- 1 to 3 years of experience working in a law firm;
- Experience in commercial law, corporate law, administrative law or indigenous law will be considered an asset.
Qualification Required
- Bachelor’s degree in law;
- A member in good standing with the Quebec Bar.
Skills required
- Bilingualism in both oral and written;
- Ability to work autonomously as part of a team;
- Demonstrate initiative and a sense of responsibility;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;

Avocat(e) - Droit civil et droit de la famille (Val-d'Or)
Description
Notre cabinet est actuellement à la recherche d’un(e) avocat(e) en droit civil et en droit de la famille pour soutenir la croissance de son étude.
Principales responsabilités
- Rencontrer les clients afin d’identifier leurs besoins;
- Mener des dossiers litigieux en droit civil et en droit de la famille;
- Recherches et rédaction de différentes opinions juridiques et procédures judiciaires;
- Faire des représentations devant les tribunaux;
- Négociations des ententes hors cour, le cas échéant;
- Procéder aux diverses étapes d’un litige et utiliser les règles de procédure civile pour favoriser le déroulement rapide et efficace des dossiers;
Qualifications et compétences recherchées
- Baccalauréat en droit;
- Être membre en règle du Barreau du Québec;
